TEN DAYS OF HAYES- The Movement begins

TEN DAYS OF HAYES, celebrating the life and music of Isaac Hayes from the anniversary of his death on August 10, 2008 to the anniversary of his birth August 20, 1942

The concept of an Isaac Hayes album always contained hypnotizing and very long extended orchestrations with long introductions or a monologue. Often these were cover versions of popular hits often referred to by Isaac Hayes as "bringing it home to Soulsville", "Soulsville" being the Memphis Tennessee base of Stax Records.

Isaac Hayes is responsible for soulful classic covers of "By The Time I get to Phoenix", "Walk On By", "I Stand Accused" and even The Beatles "Something" was recorded just as the "Fab Four" had their own hit song.

For most of these recordings, Isaac Hayes had assembled a group of musicians that included himself as "The Isaac Hayes Movement" and together they provided several soulful DEEP masterpiece grooves that sealed Isaac Hayes as one of the top legends in music.

Here are today's samples.
