"Tell The Truth" and set yourself free from political correctness.

A friend's Facebook status update pretty much sums up my feelings about political correctness.

"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

We have become a wimpy society because of political correctness. It has become acceptable for people to NOT get their feelngs hurt. You can't call things as you see them no matter if you are right or wrong. Instead of having a conversation to work out the differences and where whoever is misunderstood can possibly learn something from the other, people instead get angry and call for the head of the alledged guilty speaker.

Just tell truth even if it means stepping on some toes. But be prepared for someone to step on your toes in return. Better to have that happen than drown in the cesspool of political correctness.

"Tell The Truth" by the FIVE ROYALES (1958)

When THE RAINBOW SOUL JOURNAL existed under its former name, one of the commandments of the blog was to never be politically correct. I would simply tell it like it is even it it was insensitive or possibly insulting although there was never any intent to insult anyone. I believe that the truth hurts and it needs to be said and sometimes it needs to hurt. Otherwise how is anyone supposed to learn something or grow a sense of responsibility in their lives.

The decisions you make in life are the greatest factor in determining your destiny. Political correctness and sugarcoating the truth do nothing but hamper human progress. Sure it may feel good to not have to listen to or read something with the blunt force of reality. But Political Correctness is like some drugs. They cover up the symptoms but rarely are the cure.

I have caught hell for some of the things I have said, especially while blogging and in my posts on MySpace and Facebook. I may even have lost "friends" over it. But in the end I realize that the TRUTH has set me free from the dishonest illusions of people who weren't really "friends". And TRUTH also sets you free of drama. And I love that freedom most of all.

So I end by offering this warning. I plan to tell the truth and set you free to live a stronger life.

Political Correctness is a turd, "TRUTH" is the tissue that wipes it clean.
