Closing Daniel's Book

I first heard this in passing on a morning radio show. Then I immediately went searching online for any news of this and found out that NBC has cancelled "The Book of Daniel" effective immediately. (News Article)

I am suspecting that the protesters will feel that this is a great achievement. They will surely gloat about it and they have fun with it. The American Family ASSociation will claim this as a victory.

I still feel that this was a stupid protest and a major waste of time. I still ask myself what these protesters could have accomplished if they focused on more important issues that really affect their daily lives. Like our economy for example. While these "Christians" were in an uproar over a fictional television show, 36,000 additional job cuts were announced by American corporations.

The truth is there were not many advertisers for the program. While watching I saw more promotions for NBC programs and their upcoming Olympics broadcasts that seemed like mini movies of their own. I just did not see many commercials, either national or local. So I could clearly understand that there had to be a loss of advertising revenue for the TV stations and the network broadcasting "The Book of Daniel". In fact, it was quietly reported that one NBC station pulled the show BECAUSE of the loss of their own advertising revenue. I was disappointed in Monroe Louisiana's KTVE but they are a business and I can't really blame them for their reason if it is true.

I actually enjoyed "The Book of Daniel" for a few minutes. I taped the episodes that aired and I am pleased that I had the opportunity to MAKE MY OWN DECISION to watch this show! I did not have to accept someone else making this decision for me. My local NBC affiliate did broadcast "The Book of Daniel" and I thank them for it.

I also thank the other 225 of the 232 NBC affiliates that recognized that the viewer has a mind of their own and could choose from many channels. Therefore giving them the option to watch or to not watch. Most people choose to NOT watch the show. Ratings were low for this program and for good reason. "The Book of Daniel" was not the best TV show in my opinion. But I did enjoy watching it. I enjoyed the freedom of MY choosing!

It's a shame that 2 percent of the United States of America could not choose for themselves because their local NBC station caved into pressure from a radical "christian" group from Mississippi.

Well, enough of my rant. The Book of Daniel is now closed.

Book of Stupid Protests: week three

Every week, another station decides to remove "The Book of Daniel" from their schedule. And in my opinion, the point is rather moot as the show is airing in MOST of the country. And we are already HALF WAY through the series in which the last episode will be shown on February 3rd.

The organized protesting effort is still jamming telephone systems with complaints and each week a SMALL TOWN TV station caves in to the "pressure" to censor a television show They (station managers) say they make the decisions to remove the show because of calls and messages complaining about the show's content or they say things like the show is "inappropiate" for broadcasting during "family viewing hours".

OK whatever! I have been watching the show and I just don't see why anyone would waste their valuable time protesting this show when there are much larger issues to worry about.

This week, the latest NBC affiliates to "serve their community's best interests" by removing "The Book of Daniel" from their schedule are a TWIN affiliate serving Northwest Arkansas. KNWA and KFTA, Channels 24 and 51 in Fayetteville and Rogers Arkansas. They are owned by Nexstar, whos NBC stations in Terre Haute, Beaumont and Little Rock have also banned the show.

So lets rundown which markets have censored NBC's "The Book of Daniel"..

Terre Haute, Indiana

Little Rock, Arkansas
Beaumont, Texas
Amarillo, Texas
Tupelo, Mississippi
Meridian, Mississippi
Nashville, Tennessee
Fayetteville-Rogers, Arkansas
Jonesboro Arkansas-Monroe Louisiana

And there is a rumor that Hattiesburg Mississippi may join the list. Jonesboro/Monroe is considering whether or not to continue with the series. Late report is that they pre-empted the show last week. (nobody noticed)

Woohoo! Hattiesburg and Fayetteville Arkansas. The protesters must be gleaming with pride! While even with Nashville on the list they still haven't prevented 1 percent of TV sets from seeing the show. Arrangements were made in many of these cities to carry "The Book of Daniel" on another station in the same city. And that includes the latest addition which will be seen on the local UPN station AS ADVERTISED ON THE WEBSITE OF THE STATION WHO REFUSES TO AIR THE PROGRAM!!

Is this a stupid waste of protest time or what?

By the way, I checked the program listing for KNWA/KFTA "Northwest Arkansas' NBC" and found they offer "Maury" in the afternoons. And today's topic: "I've have 5 men tested, I know one of them has to be the daddy".

And "The Book of Daniel" is offensive to Christian Family Values.

Hmmmm.

Sunny Cold Sunday

Good Sunday morning!

I realize that my recent posts have been a display of my frustration over things in life.
But today I take a break from my "bitch about nothing" mode and just say something personal.

This is a perfect quiet Sunday. Clear and sunny outside but it is too cold. I know its winter but I wish Mother Nature would make up her mind. It was 75 degrees one day this week and 35 this morning. And everyone is dealing with a cold due to the changes in the temperature.

My quiet Sunday morning was very lazy and silent. No music, no movement but no sleep. I just layed in the bed. I really have to get out and I need to work around this messy house. And I am also mixed in my feelings about being alone. I did not mind being alone this morning, but now I am bored. And I have no one to share this bordem with. If it were warmer i'd love to go for a walk and have a good conversation.

I really wish I could go out for breakfast with a companion. But I don't have a companion. Never had one and I am lost on ideas on how to find that person. I can't just go out to eat by myself. It is an uncomfortable experience for me. Besides by this time of the day, the local restaurants are filled with families going to and from church and the coffee shops are filled with smiling couples enjoying their weekend and companionship. I can't stand to see that and not have the same on a beautiful day like this so i'll probably just go to the Starbucks drive thru. That way I could get a great coffee and maybe even a pastry. I have no idea what I will do for the rest of this day.

Either way I plan to enjoy this sunny day.

"Book of Daniel" Censorship expands

Now SEVEN stations have decided to censor NBC's "The Book of Daniel". However NBC has made arrangements to broadcast on another station in some of the cities affected.

Television stations are getting thousands of complaints through an organized effort by religous groups who want the show off the air. They are jamming phone systems at some stations and flooding stations and advertisers with e-mails. And sadly, the protests are working in small form. There are few advertisers for "The Book of Daniel" and the protestors can now boast about the largest market area they have conquered. Nashville, Tennessee.

Joining Terre Haute, Beaumont, Little Rock, Meridian and Tupelo Missisippi are Amarillo, TX and Nashville, TN. WSMV ch4 in Nashville fell to the pressure of hundreds of calls that shut down their voicemail along with letters sent on church letterhead. The letters impressed the general manager of WSMV enough for him to declare that "The Book of Daniel" was not appropiate for the citizens of Nashville. Well I guess Nashville can now feel safe and secure.

Now there is a website targeting Knoxville's WBIR who will continue to broadcast the show despite all of the complaints. (www.wbirboycott.com). The management of WBIR like many cities has basically told their audiences that if they don't like "The Book of Daniel" they could change their channel. They are allowing their audience to make decisions for themselves. And the religious community is not accepting that.

So the cities where television viewers CANNOT make their own decisions are:
Nashville, TN
Little Rock, AR
Beaumont, TX
Amarillo, TX
Tupelo, MS
Meridian, MS
Terre Haute, IN

And what an impact those cities make! 7 out of 232 NBC stations with a combined audience potential that is still less than 1% of anyone possibly watching.

Way to go American Family ASSociation (AFA) and Focus on the Family. You are so dedicated in your protest of "The Book of Daniel". Too bad you weren't as dedicated to keeping "Touched by an Angel" and other shows that are more to your liking ON the air. And what about the success of your family friendly PAX TV network? You know, that "family friendly" TV network that was hanging on by a thread and changed its name to "I" (independent television) and noboby noticed the change. And many of the PAX broadcast affiliates have returned to their former status as a home shopping channel. How entertaining! The whole family can watch the big kitchen knife sale, followed by the jewelery sale and the bread maker show.

God don't like Ugly

When I was growing up, they used to tell me "God don't like ugly".

Well, today comes a news report about an ugly TV station: KARK-TV 4 in Little Rock, Arkansas. This was one of a few NBC affiliated stations that chose to censor a new TV show called "The Book of Daniel" because the religious community complained that the show's storyline "offends" them. These complaints came before the show's debut on January 6th.

The state of Arkansas has filed tax liens against the television station for delinquent payroll taxes dating back to the summer of 2003. (News Article) from Arkansas Business.com

What happened? Didn't God tell them to pay their taxes? Seems to me that they should have been more concerned about their books of accounting rather than "The Book of Daniel".

What about the daytime shows?

I thought I would be "Fair and Balanced" and post as much information about the television stations that refused to broadcast "The Book of Daniel", a new series on NBC. Religious groups targeted "The Book of Daniel" for protest because of the show's storyline which they consider to be derogatory to their faith.

My local TV station recieved many calls asking for the show to be banned. But what I find baffling is that the same station has shown many TALK and COURT shows with topics that may be deemed offensive to someone of a Christian Faith. My local NBC station broadcasts "Jerry Springer", "Maury" Povich, Divorce Court and Judge Judy each weekday. On these shows there are topics that include sex, adultry, immorality and criminal activity available to viewers of all ages on a daily basis. Some of these shows display acts of violence. But there has NEVER been an outcry over these daily programs. Maybe an occasional call or letter sent to a TV station or an advertiser, but never with the amount of volume as the recent protest over "The Book of Daniel".

My local NBC station chose to NOT censor "The Book of Daniel". What I find disturbing is that some of the television stations that did agree to CENSOR "The Book of Daniel" also broadcast either "Jerry Springer" or "Maury" in their daytime schedule.

I decided to look at the websites of the stations who censored "The Book of Daniel" to see any available comments from station personnel AND to check their program listings. I have listed their comments below and indicated whenever they also broadcast trashy daytime tv. Am I exposing a little hyprocracy? I hope so! Because broadcasters who have gotten away with providing trash daytime television for years have a hell of a nerve playing big brother with their viewers over a ficitional program that will be shown late at night.

And people who feel neglected by TV stations "anti christian" or "anti-family" programing should protest ALL shows that may fit that bill, not just some fictional TV program that many protesters have not even seen.

Here are the television stations who censored "The Book of Daniel"

Reported but NOT Confirmed: WTVA Tupelo Mississippi

Stations CONFIRMED.......

WGBC Meridian Mississippi (Market Area Rank # 184)
This station broadcasts "Maury" 11am weekdays.

Comments by Susan Ross, station manager below:

Due to the large number of viewer objections received from our

community, WGBC will not broadcast "The Book of Daniel",scheduled to premiere on Friday, January 6, 2006. In place of this program WGBC will broadcast: StarTrek: Enterprise (8:00p-9:00p) and Reflections off the Ice-From Lake Placid to Torino (9:00p-10:00p).

WGBC TV-30 is a NBC affiliate that provides quality
programming to East Mississippi and West Alabama citizens;
most of this quality programming comes from the NBC Network.
However, the NBC program,"The Book of Daniel" has caused great concern within our community.

WGBC TV-30 is a vital part of our community and therefore we feel an obligation to respect the views of our citizens on this issue.

Station Manager, WGBC (NBC)

KARK Little Rock AR

"Book of Daniel" was picked up by KWBF (WB) Little Rock

KARK broadcasts "Judge Joe Brown" and "Judge Judy"while KWBF broadcasts "Sex in The City" and "South Park" between 6 and 7pm daily. (no christian complaints about that?)

KARK WILL NOT CARRY NBC'S THE BOOK OF DANIEL

After careful consideration, watching the program and most importantly listening to our viewers and engaging them in dialogue, we have decided not to air the NBC program The book of Daniel this Friday night. We appreciate hearing from so many of our viewers who expressed their heartfelt opinions on both sides of the issue.

You can watch the Book of Daniel on KWBF-TV, WB 42 right here in Central Arkansas. It will air Friday, January 6th at 8pm.

KBTV Beaumont, TX (Market Area Rank #140)

No comments on their website. And their daily schedule is mostly "safe".

WTWO Terre Haute (Market Area Rank #150)

WTWO Broadcasts "Judge Judy" daily at noon.

UPDATE -- Statement Issued Regarding Pre-Emption of NBC's "The Book of Daniel"

WTWO Station General Manager Duane Lammers today [January 6] has issued a revised statement regarding WTWO`s decision to preempt the NBC show "The Book of Daniel".

"After reading and hearing much of the reporting on my decision to pre-empt "The Book of Daniel", let me update my comments as follows:

"My first obligation to my station is to protect the license granted by the FCC. Current regulations could subject this station to severe punishment, up to and including revocation of our license if even a single person's objection to the FCC found material broadcast by our station to be indecent or obscene. Subsequent viewing of the material within "The Book of Daniel" leaves me no choice but to do my job and uphold the standards of our community."

Click here to read legal opinions regarding obscenity, indecency and profanity.

=====================

This is the statement issued on January 4:

"Our relationship with NBC always provided for the right to reject programming. I am reaffirming that right to let them know I will not allow them to make unilateral decisions affecting our viewers.

"Second, I want to draw attention to the worst offenders of indecency on television ... the cable industry, which faces no decency regulations, nor a license renewal.

"If my action causes people in our community to pay more attention to what they watch on television, I have accomplished my mission."

"The Book of Daniel" -Book of Stupid Protests (part 3)

I am not good at writing reviews of television shows. So I'll just say that I did watch "The Book of Daniel" and I enjoyed it. There are many things about this show that are over the top and I could see where someone could be offended. I just don't understand why there is so much fuss over this show. I assume this show was meant to be a comedy. I laughed at some of it and I shook my head in amusement of some of it. Overall, this is not the greatest TV show ever, nor is it the worst. One thing is that there are more important things to get upset over than THIS television show.

To update my previous post, the final tally of television stations that censored "The Book of Daniel" is four plus one more not confirmed. The two original stations in Terre Haute and Little Rock plus two more NBC stations refused to broadcast the program. KBTV-4 in Beaumont, TX and WGBC-30 in the metropolis of Meridian, Mississippi. WTVA-9 was reported as the fifth station to pre-empt "The Book Of Daniel" in Tupelo Mississippi, the home town of Ron Wildmon and the American Family Association- The so-called "Christians" who started this whole mess. Together these stations count for less than ONE PERCENT of the viewership of NBC's 230 affiliates.

One group of stations that planned to censor "The Book of Daniel" later reversed their decision and broadcasted the program. "KSN" in Kansas received many calls asking them to NOT boycott the show. That was KSNW in Wichita and their satellite stations that make up KSN: The Kansas State Network (NBC)

Many television station managers have stated that it was unfair to judge a TV show without having seen it while people like Duane Lammers of Nexstar TV and Susan Ross of little WGBC TV in Meridian felt it was necessary to believe that their viewers were not smart enough to choose what they wanted to watch in their homes. Sure, the TV stations recieved calls and e-mails by the thousands demanding that the TV show be banned. But most people had only seen promos of the show or were simply responding to hearsay from christian leaders. Now the callers will bug the advertisers until they get their wish to have this show banned from the air.

Anyway the show was not a ratings winner but there was an increase in viewership during that timeslot, an increase that is surely a result of this controversy. I doubt that the christian protests over the show will make it go away. Lower ratings over time will determine that and that is how it should be. If you don't like a program then don't support it. Change your channel or turn your TV off and read a book. Or go out and have a "Gay ole' Time! Surely there is a WAL-Mart or Waffle House in your little town where you can hang out on a Friday night. Or even better (for you).....go to church!

The Book of Stupid Protests (part 2)

Christians are really in a uproar over the television show "The Book of Daniel". They want the show banned from television.

Living in the deep South, I was waiting for the locals to jump on the bandwagon. And they did not disappoint.

WMGT Channel 41 in Macon got flooded with calls from local churches asking them to NOT air "The Book of Daniel" tonight. But no one has EVER called to complain about Jerry Springer, Maury Povich and the like airing on the same station. Or the trashy Judge shows.

I guess trashy TV talk shows full of immoral guests and topics aren't offensive to Christians, they happen to be Macon's highest rated TV programs during the afterschool and dinner hours.

I am happy that the local NBC station where I live is not going to pratice censorship this evening. They announced that "The Book of Daniel" will be seen as scheduled. But stations in Indiana, Arkansas and now Kansas have decided their viewers are not smart enough to make their own choices. And the station in Little Rock that refuses to show "The Book of Daniel" tells their viewers that the show will be available on another station in the city. So is that an invitation to intentionally lose viewers? Are television stations now in the business of telling people NOT to watch their station? Glad I am not an investor in that operation.

Book of Daniel Controversy
By:Seth Bauguess

A new TV show on NBC is creating an uproar all over the country.

41-NBC has been flooded with emails and calls about the Book of Daniel. The drama is about an Episcopalian priest, his family, and the issues they deal with.

It's a topic that cuts right to the heart of many in Middle Georgia. But is the show taking shots at Christians? Or, does it just show a side that some people don't want to see?

The congregation at Vineville North Baptist Church is not unlike many groups of faith who don't understand why the controversial TV show, is a TV show.

"Have they exhausted all creative elements that they go to a show that offends people of faith?"

Senior Pastor Jerry Dingmore, Vineville North Baptist Church

After receiving hundreds of emails from all over Middle Georgia requesting that we pull the show, we wanted to get both sides of the issue from two men of faith.

"I think it does scare some people to realize the church is supposed to be in the ditch of life. That's the good samaritan story."

Pastor Jim Braswell, Lutheran Church of the Redeemer

The "ditch" of Daniel centers on an Episcopalian reverend who struggles with addiction, sees and talks with Jesus often, juggles a rocky relationship with his alcoholic wife, and challenges the authority of the heads of his church.

"Close to reality and perhaps too close to reality for some people."

Pastor Jim Braswell, Lutheran Church of the Redeemer

But Jerry Dingmore says this is not reality. He says it smells a lot like another attempt to take jabs at people like him.

"Is the purpose of this truly to entertain or is it about targeting the people of faith?"

Jerry Dingmore, Vineville North Baptist Church

One thing is for sure, as religion continues to work its way into the mainstream, we will continue to see shows like this and movies like the Passion that show both the positive and negative sides of religion and faith.

Two NBC stations have decided not to air the series. One station is in Indiana, and the other is in Arkansas.

The Book of Daniel will air on 41-NBC. It premieres Friday night at 9 pm.

An Icon of My Youth

I have to share this piece of my childhood. My sister called me this evening to inform me that the TV news reported the death of "Skipper Chuck", who was the host of a local children's television show that we grew up watching. His real name was (Charles) Chuck Zink and he was a popular local TV and radio personality in South Florida for the past 50 years. He died yesterday at age 80. (News Article)

The news hit me hard for a minute and brought back a lot of memories. And I mean way back memories for me....the early 1970's! when I was the first one up every morning and watching
cartoons on TV. The cartoons started at 6:30am when the TV station signed on the air.
It was Channel 4 every morning. Batman reruns at 6:30 and "The Skipper Chuck Show" from 7 to 8am. Captain Kangaroo came on at 8 but I never watched that. We had to leave for school after 8, plus when I was 6,7,or 8 years old I thought Captain Kangaroo was for "babies".

But Skipper Chuck was our hero. We could actually be on his show, or he could bring the show to our school. Or we could hear our name called on TV for our birthday. We loved this man! This was the days of only having a few channels to choose from. But we were grateful and thoroughly enjoyed THE children's show of South Florida every morning. The show ran for 23 years, earned TWO regional emmy awards and was intergrated at a time when it was unheard of and not acceptable for Blacks and Whites to share the same spaces in public. That was at the insistance of Skipper Chuck himself in the late 1950's.

Like most kids growing up in South Florida, I wanted to be on the Skipper Chuck show. But the waiting list was 2 years long at the show's peak of popularity in the early 1970's. However I do remember the show coming to my school and other live public events. Mostly, I just enjoyed sitting in front of a Sears TV set tuned to the old WTVJ Channel 4 every morning before school.

The Skipper Chuck show ended when CBS began a morning news show in the late 1970's and by then I was probably too old to watch this kiddie show anymore even though I watced plenty of cartoons well into my teens. Then we moved to New York where I would attend High School. By the time we moved back to S. FLA in the mid 1980's Chuck Zink was doing commercials and entertainment programs for a much older crowd, the senior citizens of South Florida. For them he hosted big band and jazz programs on the radio and I enjoyed listening to some of them.

Chuck Zink also hosted the local edition of the annual Jerry Lewis MDA Telephon, a quiz show and some national programs including beauty pageants.

I left Florida 12 years ago and moved on and now I frequently reminisce over my youth. I have had he death of my mother along with so many changes in my childhood hometown area and now the death of the entertainment icon of my youth is less than one year. These were big changes and big losses but happily for me, they are BIG memories.

Cherished memories!

Charles D. Zink aka "Skipper Chuck" (1925-2006)

Photos taken from WTVJ "NBC-6" in Miami. This is the former WTVJ Channel 4 that aired "The Skipper Chuck Show" and was a CBS affiliate that was purchased by NBC in the 1980's, became a NBC affiliate and moved to Channel 6 in 1995. Not to be confused with the current CBS affiliate on Channel 4 in Miami, WFOR-TV.

Yeah, I'm saying it for real!

I just decided to update my profile on this blog. I added a photo of me and my name.

Having my name on my comments is like putting an official signature on my statements. For me, this will be one of the hallmarks of HONESTY, INTREGRITY and ACCOUNTABILITY.

Is this a safety risk, I doubt it. Most people would not dare put their name online. They think they are protecting their privacy. These people have no idea just how "public" their lives are in the information age. There are so many ways to find out things about anyone. But I have nothing to be ashamed of and I have done nothing wrong in my life. Well at least not intentionally.

I can still have my privacy and I will have my privacy on the things that matter. I will fearlessly defend my privacy whenever I need to. So I don't fear having my name online. It is me standing behind my comments.

Quietly I hope the blogs may lead to meeting people, possibly making some friends or finding that "special someone". (Like that will ever happen online or off in this lifetime!) So why not introduce myself.....Hello, I am Edric Floyd.

Who are you?

The Book of Stupid Protests

A sign in Macon Georgia says it best.

Many of those people call themselves "Christians".

The latest proof of this comes with the "Christian" outcry over a television show called "The Book of Daniel" which will debut on January 6. Led by the Christian boycott loving Donald Wildmon and his American Family Association. "AFA". These are the same who boycotted DISNEY for allowing gay people to enter their theme parks and considered a boycott of FORD for daring to advertise in a gay magazine.

According to promotions, "The Book of Daniel " television show involves a portrayal of Jesus as a "real" person. The star of the show actually sees Jesus and discusses life with him. But there is a GAY and LESBIAN characters on the show, with the Lesbian character having a relationship with another character on the show.

Oh, and the main character is a minister.

So the religious community again has their panties tied into a knot and people are calling for this show to be BANNED from television. So far, TV stations in two American cities are refusing to air "The Book of Daniel". Those stations are in Terre Haute, Indiana and Little Rock, Arkansas.

Do Christians know anything about the remote control's function that could relieve them of their stress over a television show? That function that CHANGES THE CHANNEL, or even better TURNS OFF THE TELEVISION. Do Christians know anything about freedom of speech in the US?

I am sure that I am going to be talking about this as I learn more about the protest and the TV show itself. Thanks to the outcry over this, I plan to watch the show this weekend. I seldom have any interest in new programs on "commercial" broadcast television, but I will check out "The Book of Daniel" to see what the fuss is all about.

Blame it on the drugs?

A series of billboards in Macon Georgia....

DRUGS ARE UGLY! with BEFORE and AFTER photos.

If drugs made these woman ugly AFTER they used them, what the hell happened BEFORE they used drugs?

(But then there really is no shortage of ugly women in Macon Georgia.)

First day, First "F" Up!

I was not in the mood to celebrate or even see in the new year. I was glad that the old year was done and a little down because I was going to be alone for New Years Eve again. I was having my "Sick of being single" feelings. So last night around 10:30pm I called it a year (or night). I drank the last of my Egg Nog before bed. That ensured that I would go fast asleep and sleep comfortably.
And boy did I sleep comfortably and long while happily ignoring the midnight event. I slept for 9 hours straight! I never actually sleep that long.

When I did wake up on Sunday it was dark and cloudy outside. Perfect for me to just relax and have a very lazy Sunday. I did have to work for a few hours in the evening, but I had several hours to do absolutely nothing. So I went back to bed.

I did not care about the weather. Rain doesn't bother me. And considering my mood at the new year rain would be appropiate. So let it rain huh? Maybe I should be careful what I ask for.

When I left for work later in the day, it had been a steady downpour for a couple of hours. Enough rain to create puddles in the yard. And the floor of my car! For some reason that I'll never figure out, I left the driver's window rolled down in the car.

I walked up to my car and the driver's window looked strange. OOPS, it was open! First I thought someone had broken into the car. Nope, the car was locked and everything was intact. Even the $20 bill that I had for gas money was still in the visor where I put it when I parked the car last night. I don't know what I was thinking. Or maybe I was just too determined to get inside to avoid New Year's Eve that I just overlooked the fact that I left the driver's window open.

Well thanks to my forgetfulness the driver's seat was soaked and there was a little puddle on the floor. When I discovered this I was late for work and it was still raining. So I had to take my other car, which was out of gas and would use much more gas than the car I allowed to be flooded. I used the car with the soaked interior for work. But tonight I had to use my sporty gas guzzler.

I'll call this my first "F" UP of 2006. And I sure hope it is not a sign of things to come in the new year. However It may make for some interesting blog articles. Stay Tuned and Happy New Year.
