Book of Stupid Protests: week three

Every week, another station decides to remove "The Book of Daniel" from their schedule. And in my opinion, the point is rather moot as the show is airing in MOST of the country. And we are already HALF WAY through the series in which the last episode will be shown on February 3rd.

The organized protesting effort is still jamming telephone systems with complaints and each week a SMALL TOWN TV station caves in to the "pressure" to censor a television show They (station managers) say they make the decisions to remove the show because of calls and messages complaining about the show's content or they say things like the show is "inappropiate" for broadcasting during "family viewing hours".

OK whatever! I have been watching the show and I just don't see why anyone would waste their valuable time protesting this show when there are much larger issues to worry about.

This week, the latest NBC affiliates to "serve their community's best interests" by removing "The Book of Daniel" from their schedule are a TWIN affiliate serving Northwest Arkansas. KNWA and KFTA, Channels 24 and 51 in Fayetteville and Rogers Arkansas. They are owned by Nexstar, whos NBC stations in Terre Haute, Beaumont and Little Rock have also banned the show.

So lets rundown which markets have censored NBC's "The Book of Daniel"..

Terre Haute, Indiana

Little Rock, Arkansas
Beaumont, Texas
Amarillo, Texas
Tupelo, Mississippi
Meridian, Mississippi
Nashville, Tennessee
Fayetteville-Rogers, Arkansas
Jonesboro Arkansas-Monroe Louisiana

And there is a rumor that Hattiesburg Mississippi may join the list. Jonesboro/Monroe is considering whether or not to continue with the series. Late report is that they pre-empted the show last week. (nobody noticed)

Woohoo! Hattiesburg and Fayetteville Arkansas. The protesters must be gleaming with pride! While even with Nashville on the list they still haven't prevented 1 percent of TV sets from seeing the show. Arrangements were made in many of these cities to carry "The Book of Daniel" on another station in the same city. And that includes the latest addition which will be seen on the local UPN station AS ADVERTISED ON THE WEBSITE OF THE STATION WHO REFUSES TO AIR THE PROGRAM!!

Is this a stupid waste of protest time or what?

By the way, I checked the program listing for KNWA/KFTA "Northwest Arkansas' NBC" and found they offer "Maury" in the afternoons. And today's topic: "I've have 5 men tested, I know one of them has to be the daddy".

And "The Book of Daniel" is offensive to Christian Family Values.

Hmmmm.
