June is Gay Pride month. Last week we honored Gay Days in Orlando. This weekend there are Gay Pride events in places like Washington DC, Philadelphia and Key West. So I thought I would post music from performers who are native to those areas.

Harry Casey is from Hallandale Florida which is in the Miami area which is not too far from Key West where they are having Key West Pride from June 8-12, 2011.

Harry Casey if you aren't aware is "KC" of KC and The Sunshine Band.

"Keep It Coming Love"

CAPITAL PRIDE in Washington DC is this weekend and their headline entertainment this year is JENNIFER HOLIDAY.

"No Frills Love" by Jennifer Holiday

Amii Stewart is from the Washington DC area. Of course she has the disco classic "Knock On Wood"

Also from Washington DC, Shannon (real name Brenda Shannon Greene)

"Let The Music Play"

And the favorite city of DISCO SATURDAY is of course the city of Brotherly Love and PHILLY PRIDE is also this weekend. And from the great disco foundation that is the sound of Philadelphia, this week's "Philly Posts" feature First Choice who's lead singer Rochelle Fleming is a friend of the gay community and sometimes appears at Gay pride events.

"Dr Love"

"Double Cross"

And that is your 10 plus one for DISCO SATURDAY this weekend. I try to post away from the mainstream hits and bring back memories of the deepest disco cuts you don't hear unless presented by a serious disco fan usually someone who might have been there when it was created. Anyway here's hoping you have a safe and happy pride weekend as we continue through the Pride month of June. Have fun in Key West, Washington DC and Philadelphia and other places that are holding LGBT pride events this weekend and this month.

See you next "Disco Saturday"
